3 months old

Here's what has been going on since I turned 3 months old...
Grandma Brooke came to visit me. We went to the zoo, but I slept through most of it. I graduated to size 2 diapers. We went shopping for new toys since I'm so grown up. My bumbo seat arrived so I can practice sitting. I went to my friend Rece's 1 year birthday party. Mom says I weigh about 13 pounds on our bathroom scale. I'm starting to outgrow my 0-3 month size clothes. I heard my first thunderstorm. I get to ride in my baby bjorn carrier now. My eyes are getting less blue. I can push myself up better during tummy time. Sometimes I don't cry during my bath. I am more interested in watching TV. I talk a lot, making the same sound over and over sometimes. I can say all my vowel sounds, sometimes with g, h, and m sounds. I smile and coo through my diaper changes. Here's some pictures from the past few weeks.

I think that about covers it. In other news...
My mom started into a business. She is an independent wine consultant for The Traveling Vineyard, marketing wines by offering wine tastings in your home. So, if you are interested in wine and wine accessories for yourself or for gifts, please give her a call or visit her website at http://www.myttv.com/Andrea12943.

Mother's Day-Alex is 12 Weeks Old!

Happy Mother's Day! We had a really big day here. We started out with a family flight in a Cessna 150. It was short due to an airplane generator problem, but Alex flew over Minot at 4500' for about 16 minutes! Later in the day, the whole family went golfing. Alex rode peacefully in the golf cart for 9 holes.

This video shows Alex making his new fun sound that sounds like "hi". (It is kind of boring after the first 10 seconds) It is pretty neat to say hi to him and have him say it back!

He's been rolling a little from his back up on his side for a few seconds at a time. He's really doing great with sleeping at night, but he likes to go to bed late and sleep in late (after getting up to eat)--so he must take after his mom for that!

It snowed here Friday night (see the pictures)...hopefully the last of the year!

Enjoy the pictures from the weekend!

11 weeks old

Hello from Alex...my new favorites this week are sucking on my right hand (making lots of noise) and sitting up with help from mom--or I can stay there for about 1 to 2 seconds on my own. I'm getting better at grabbing and then holding onto my toys by myself and if mom entertains me enough I can stand a minute or two of tummy time. I gave mom and dad a few nights of 7 hour sleep stretches, ate, then fell back to sleep for a few more hours...they really liked that. Now I'm back to about 4 1/2 hours at a time, eat, then maybe another couple of hours. My favorite spots to nap are on mom's lap, in my swing, or in my carseat and strollers. I went to an OSC (officers spouses club) meeting and social this week and got gushed on by lots of ladies...I figure I might as well get used to it now. I've also entertained mom and dad's friends at the officer's club the last few Fridays...don't worry, no drinks for me. The nicer weather and slightly less windy days have let me get out for stroller runs, and have let mom do some flying and dad do some golfing. Hopefully soon I'll be able to get outside to play too! Other big news in ND: the Thai restaurant opened in Minot, Hooters opened in Bismarck and Bismarck is getting an Olive Garden...roadtrips for me soon!
