Alex and the MO Tractors Video

Here's a video of Alex enjoying riding the "tractors" in MO. (FYI: Tractors are just about anything that has wheels that is not a train, truck, or car...in Alex speak!)

The Rest of March 2010--Trips to MO and TN

We took a family trip in the airplane to Missouri to visit with Great-Uncle Rick, Great-Aunt Jane, and cousins Scot and Mark. Gram, Pop, and Great-Gram came down from IL to visit as well. It was Evelyn's first plane ride and she did great, as did Alex (except for getting sick about 30 minutes from home on the return trip!) during the 4 hours of flying each way with one stop.
To celebrate her first St. Patrick's day, we took Evey to the ER. Well, actually she had a little eye infection and we had to go to the ER since we were away from home. She got some ointment and was fine two days later. We all had a great visit with the McElvaines from MO and IL and they enjoyed playing with the kids. We visited a kids discovery center which Alex loved and Evey slept through in the baby bjorn. Alex loved to play outside and ride the tractor, 4-wheelers, and golf cart at Rick and Jane's.
The kids and mom went to Tennessee the last weekend of the month to visit with Grandma and Grandpa there and for mom to run the Knoxville Half-Marathon. Despite little training and bum knees, she finished in 2:15 and change. The grandparents enjoyed the kiddos and we enjoyed a lovely day to go to the park. We visited with Grandma at work before we left and the kids survived the 6 hours of driving each way without too much trouble (thank you DVD player!).

Evey is holding her head up really well, so we've introduced her to the Bumbo seat and the Exersaucer in the last few days of this month. She's not sure about them yet, but does seem to like being upright sometimes more than the bouncy or swing recliners.

Alex has a cold that we've all shared to some extent but is still wound for sound almost all the time. We like the warmer weather that is here to get some great energy-expending outdoor play time.
Here are the pictures from March.

Evelyn at 2 months old

Evey turned two months old on March 2nd. She had her 2 month checkup on March 4th. She weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces (8%), was 22 1/4 inches long (45%), and had a head circumference of 14 3/4 inches (7%). She's our long and lean little lady. She sleeps 5-7 hours at night but doesn't like to go to sleep until around 11 pm most nights. She's in size 1 diapers and size 0-3 months clothes. Here are some pictures of her at 2 months old.
Alex had green eggs and ham (his current favorite book) in celebration of Dr. Suess's birthday this month. He likes to wear the Dr. Suess hat he made at school too.
